WELL THAT’S IT – Over two years of publishing one comic every day. If you follow the comic, you may have guessed that there have been some significant changes in my life over those two years (nothing as significant as Randall Munroe’s “Two Years”). I love making this comic, appreciate my followers, and don’t plan on quitting anytime soon.
However, there will be some changes:
Qoana will no longer be a daily publication. I need some rest, some time to take care of my family and myself. So the new schedule will be five comics a week. And because I hate when I can’t read/watch periodicals on the weekend, the comic’s days off will be Monday and Tuesday. Maybe this will improve the quality of the humor, but I promise nothing.
I’ll be publishing additional content, some historical trivia and history, and maybe a some other random bits. Initially this content will not autopublish to Tumblr. For my Tumblr followers, you may have to go to the actual website to see those; I’m trying to see if I can autopublish them to another seperate Tumblog without spending too much time on it.
I’ll be redesigning the site to make it easier to use. Contact me if you would like to help.
I’ll begin selling products related to the comics and my art: just the usual, t-shirts, posters, books, novelty underwear, etc.
And I might be adding some advertising. But if I do it will be directly through me and only be for products or artists (kaiami, hollarity, etc.) I believe in and the ads will match the page aesthetic. No Google ads, no banners. If you’re interested in advertising on my page let me know. If I really like you it might be free.
There may be some small errors and downtime as these changes are made. I apologize for nothing.
The Comic – My kid is due any day, so the comic will be going to auto post for about two weeks when that happens. I apologize if there are any missposts (the most likely case being that my Tumblr script fails). If you don’t see a comic for the day, please check the actual website.
Halloween – I seem to have accumulated some zombie/undead comics that I have cued for rest of the month. Enjoy.
The Pregnancy Book – Eleven people (Sara, Cricket, Green Beard, Jane St. Clair, “Default User”, Tyler, lifethroughgeologictime, fractalusurper, mamaolympias, celestial-cerberus, Kelly) have voted yes, so far. I would need fourteen more to say they were interested before I decided to publish. A quick explanation: I’m not looking for commitments to buy; however, if I thought that I was likely to have 25 individuals buy the book, I would be confident that my investment in publishing it would be recouped quickly. If 25 say yes, then I’ll start editing. Once I’ve edited, I’ll take pre-orders and send it to the printer. Any pre-orders will have their signed copies shipped within a day of my receiving the books from the printer.
Hey, followerinos. The wife and I are heading to the UK for half-a-month, so the comic’s on auto until we return. If there are any problems (the comic fails to load, it’s badly drawn, it’s not funny), I probably won’t be able to fix them right away.
If you need a souvenir, better let me know soon.
I should be back to full capacity around the time the kangaroo comic posts.
Until then, do good things (if you’re unsure, follow Leah’s example).
